This week has been a rough one.
Mia got her tonsils and adenoids taken out early Friday morning. And even though I know it was the right decision, a decision that will improve her quality of life 10-fold, it was rough. Watching your little girl jump up into a wheelchair and blow you a kiss as she is wheeled off down the hall is not an experience I want to relive.

Thank you Nini and Lauren for the beautiful flower and balloon bouquet and mom, for the de-lish chicken spagetti
She is tough as a boot, but this knocked her down a notch or two. Of course, having two pieces of flesh the size of large grapes cut out of your throat would slow anybody down.
Tonsils are grody lookin things by the way. I know this because after the doc cut them out of Mia’s throat, she thoughtfully placed them in a nice little hermetically-sealed jar and handed them to me. Like I needed a keepsake or something. I handed them to Troy and said “Happy Fathers Day honey.”
And a Happy Fathers Day it was……
His only Fathers Day request was a good steak, grilled to bloody perfection by him, a cold beer in a frosty mug, at home with his family. This did not surprise me. While I thrive on going places and seeing people, Troy is happiest at home. With his sprinkler, his grass, his ESPN, and his family.
It was a very good day.
and Mia is recovering quite well……..

Before we subjected our 4-year-old to go under the knife, Mia and I had some fun in the sun at the new water park down the road…
This kid LOVES the water.
And for Troy…..
Our babies are so very lucky to have you for a daddy. I couldn’t have picked a better one. I love the way you love, and its an honor to be on this adventure with you.
Happy Fathers Day.

I AGREE WITH YOU AND LOVE TO SEE THE TWO OF YOU SHARE YOUR LIFE WITH EACH OTHER AND THOSE SWEET BABIES!!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH. MUMS
